Taek-Geun Kwon

Chief Executive Officer

Taek-Geun Kwon is the Chief Executive Officer of Zinnia. Taek has 15 years of experience as an investor in both private and public markets across a broad range of sectors and an additional 11 years of operating experience in both high-growth entrepreneurial companies as well as turnaround situations.

Taek started his investment career in 2005 at global private equity firm TPG Capital, where he was a managing director, operating partner, and senior advisor and received the firm’s annual Global Leadership award. Prior to founding Zinnia in 2019, Taek was the founder and Managing Partner of Toro Investment Partners, a multi-strategy investment firm that made investments in public markets as well as early stage private companies.

Earlier in his career, Taek served as an early executive of CommerceBid, an online business to business marketplace; Hotwire.com, an online travel agency acquired by Expedia; IAC, a conglomerate of leading online businesses, where he was one of the recipients of the Chairman’s Award; and Friendster, the first social network. Taek received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, where he was a member of Pi Tau Sigma, the international mechanical engineering honor society, and the wrestling and sprint football teams.
